LA Valley Police Programs Rebrand

Mending relationships by rebranding how Law Enforcement serves their community, starting with education.

The Objective

Community-based policing is an essential step toward creating a healthier relationship between law enforcement and the public. LA Valley College’s two policing programs, POPP and COPP, have committed to emphasizing unity, service, and compassion as they educate a new generation of officers. A new branding system and advertising strategy is the best start to set their intentions.

POPP

First-Time Law Enforcement Education
for students entering college

About the Logo:

  • Utilizes recognizable badge and start symbols as well as colors to make a connection to policing for individuals that are new to law enforcement

  • Rays of light shining from the start allude to an optimistic vision for policing moving forward with a new generation

Advertising Strategy
Illustrate police uniforms over young adults to make law enforcement attainable by humanizing police officers and signify that the uniform does not give the power to ignore that humanity when interacting with people in the field.

COPP

Continued Education
for Current Law Enforcement Officials & Veterans

About the Logo:

  • Traditional Law Enforcement colors allude to the field with the addition of a sky blue to communicate optimism

  • A range of typefaces conveys that diversity of perspective and opinion is essential to the betterment of the relationship between police and the public

  • Italicized letters signify forward thinking and progress

  • By breaking out of the box, the lettering is redefining and going beyond previous expectations for law enforcement

Advertising Strategy
Carry through this concept by featuring the program’s main values for better policing overlayed on imagery of law enforcement in their community.
